Talbots is looking for a Technical Support Lawyer to support our successful National Conveyancing and New Homes teams. With at least 5 years' qualified experience in Residential Property, you'll bring expert knowledge of conveyancing law and practice to a role that underpins the success of our department.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a technical role without the addition of a caseload, focusing instead on providing timely, accurate, and practical legal expertise that supports our conveyancing teams and ensures compliance, efficiency, and quality.

What the job involves:
Examine development documentation to confirm titles and information are fit for property sales and lender security.
Draft clear, comprehensive reports for contracts, searches, and ownership types.
Ensure accuracy and compliance in all documentation, preparing titles for registration.
Be a trusted advisor - consult with junior colleagues and guide lawyers on complex technical issues.
Support risk management by providing cover for compliance reviews and risk assessments.
Champion efficiency, prioritise workloads, promote paper?light procedures, and uphold SRA, Lexcel, Law Society Quality Scheme, SARs, and accounting standards.
What you need:
Comprehensive knowledge of conveyancing law and practice.
Ability to critically assess property development schemes.
Strong grasp of Lexcel file management, compliance, AML, and SARs.
Excellent organisation, prioritisation, and attention to detail.
Confidence in advising on risk and compliance decisions.
Outstanding communication skills -- written, verbal, and interpersonal.
Proficiency with MS Office, email, and online tools.
Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable guidance.
Desirable Extras
Experience creating precedent frameworks for key letters.
Familiarity with SOS Connect, Land Registry Portal, and online conveyancing software.
Background in the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme.
