You will be responsible for the promotion, coordination and delivery of the teams work with respect to development planning, with a particular emphasis on contaminated land and brownfield regeneration across the area.
You will contribute to the development of a team work plan alongside the team, helping to build resilience and expertise within GMMC, as well as ensuring the continued technical development of the team.

You will be expected to support the area in incident management, whether this is providing technical support to the incident directly or supporting colleagues to ensure that any risks posed to the wider business are managed effectively. Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You are required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training is given. We will work with you to find a role that suits your interests and circumstances.

The team
In our area we have seen a significant increase in development.
We play an important role in ensuring that development is carried out in an environmentally sustainable manner that prevents contamination of the groundwater and surface water, and promotes the enhancement of the natural environment.
We provide technical support and we advise partners, to ensure that water resources and water quality regulation protects the environment, existing abstractors and, supports sustainable/efficient use of groundwater.
Experience/skills required
You will be able to prioritise work undertaken by others based on environmental and business risk.
You will be an effective communicator with strong influencing skills, capable of building relationships across the organisation .
You will have a proven ability to deliver results through others, with a focus on efficiency, innovation and quality.
We are looking for a competent, experienced in geoscience who is versatile, self-motivated and can quickly fit in and contribute to the work of our busy team.
You will have an understanding of the Water Framework Directive, Environmental Permitting Regulations, Water Resources Management, Contaminated Land Regulations and Town and Country Planning.

Our hybrid working model combines home and office working, however you will be expected to attend the office for certain meetings.
Interviews will be held the week commencing 3 November 2025 these will be held in person where possible.
