They are internationally recognised for their contributions to animal welfare science, with one of the largest research teams in Europe dedicated to understanding the behaviour and wellbeing of managed animals.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Technical Support Officer to join our team at Oatridge, where you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching within the Animal Unit.
This position is central to ensuring that both staff and students have the technical support they need to carry out practical learning activities effectively and safely.
The successful candidate will bring a strong foundation of technical expertise, particularly in animal care and handling, and will be responsible for maintaining the operational readiness of teaching environments. This includes preparing animals and equipment for practical sessions, ensuring that facilities and stores are kept clean, organised, and well-stocked, and supporting teaching staff during demonstrations and practical classes. You will also contribute to the development of teaching resources and may be involved in supervising students and trainees during hands-on activities. Your contribution will help create a safe, engaging, and professionally run learning environment that supports the academic and practical development of our students.

Minimum Qualifications:
This role would suit a candidate educated to SCQF Level 5, with the ability to demonstrate competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired sufficient relevant knowledge and skills e.g. in a similar role, or through education/training.
