The ideal candidate for this role is an engineer who has experience in a customer facing role in fluid monitoring and control engineering. The focus will be on internal sales administration and technical support of the Walchem controller, and Walchem, Sensorex and Pyxis sensor ranges. Including but not limited to:
Sales administration
Process sales orders on company CRM system
Ensure accurate and complete record keeping across the sales cycle
Keep customer records up to date
Technical support
Pre-sales technical assistance
After-sales support services and technical back up
Customer product training
Occasional site visits
Trouble shooting & fault finding
Product configuration and fabrication
Configure data networks for controllers
Light product fabrication for custom plug and play configurations
Collaborate on new innovative solutions to solve customer challenges
Account Management
Develop long-term relationships with customers, through managing and fulfilling their requirements
Interpret customer specifications to provide the appropriate fluid monitoring & control solutions for their needs
Meet regular sales targets and contribute to sales team projects
Occasional travel to meet existing and prospective customers
Business development
Exhibit at trade shows
Support marketing initiatives
Follow up with warm leads
Candidate requirements
Essential:
Water treatment engineer experience
Previous experience in water treatment engineering, within a water treatment company or manufacturing environment.
Customer experience
Friendly outgoing manner, with 3 years' experience in a customer facing engineering role with an interest in sales and technical support.
Communication Skills
Clear and professional communicator with a positive confident manner on the telephone, in person and through email.GCSE or BTEC level 2 in a science or a technical subject and English.High level of accuracy in data entry, record keeping, and reviewing technical or commercial information.Good IT literacy, comfortable with Microsoft office packages and experience of using CRM/ERP systems.Able to work independently, good practical problem-solving skills and a willingness to support colleagues across different departments.

Desirable:
Working knowledge of pH, REDOX (ORP), corrosion, dissolved oxygen, TDS/ conductivity and disinfection.
Practical experience with remote communication techniques: routers, modems, LANs, BACnet or Modbus/TCP.
Plastic solvent welding and basic wiring skills.
