Job Description

We are looking for a technical team leader in our Film Production area .This role will provide management support and development for the delivery of technical services to all our customers including students, academics, and external clients. This involves the strategic implementation of hardware and software to these facilities which include Film Studios, stores and high-end postproduction services within a multi-platform environment and high specification digital teaching spaces. The role will lead the technical demonstrator and technical teams working in support of film production reporting back to the senior technical manager

Key Responsibilities

To develop and build a technical team working closely with the school's technical team leaders/ managers supporting Film Production To help shape the integration and embedding of technical learning and delivery into the school's academic programmes To lead technical aspects of projects surrounding the long-term strategy of film production including consulting with stakeholders on studios, facilities and equipment To maintain a high level of industry awareness and pro-actively, assess and advise on the impact of developments in technology To maintain health and safety knowledge and standards and to have due regard for the security, safety, installation, and maintenance of specialist facilities ensuring compliance with Health & Safety guidance and regulation

The School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology is one of the leading centres for practice-based education in the creative disciplines in the Northwest. We offer research-informed specialist programmes which benefit from close relationships with the cultural industries. Our strengths include interdisciplinary and international projects, many of which are focussed at MediaCityUK, a world class facility on a campus dedicated to broadcasting in all its forms and in close proximity to The Lowry and Imperial War Museum North. The school's teaching activities are organised into four Directorates, which currently total over 5,000 students. We are expanding numbers and have developed our city campus to meet the needs of a wide range of courses. This includes the New Adelphi Building, a specialist 55 million arts building with professional theatre, dance and music facilities, workshops and extensive studios which opened in August 2016.
