BASF Coatings UK Limited supplies Automotive OEM and component manufacturers with all four layers of coatings - e-coats, primers, basecoats and clearcoats. We have a significant presence of service staff across the UK's car and automotive components manufacturing plants. Our Automotive Refinish coatings are approved by most of the leading manufacturers for use in their authorised bodyshops. We focus on ecoefficient waterborne and high-solids coatings with low solvent content. We supply Glasurit and R-M refinish paints and provide staff training.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Lead the BASF business at a prestigious manufacturer in the Midlands, which comprise of management of technical service people, involvement in the day to day running of the CORE spray coat business across various plants and driving successful launch of new materials, delivering to specific KPI's, and driving improvements in RFT.
Provide leadership and day to day management control, whilst supporting and developing subordinates within the BASF team, thus driving principles of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale & Environment including adherence to EHS policy and principles.
Oversee BASF stock planning, ordering, coordination, to ensure that shared manufacturing batches drive improvements in efficiency.
Drive and lead introduction of new technologies and base colours. Mainly linked to new Model year colour introductions, whilst ensuring clear and concise documentation of line trials/commissioning activities, across the CORE business.
Monitor Product by Product consumption, maintaining management reports and controls, and taking action as appropriate to meet BASF and customer requirement's
Weekly overview on various plants, focusing on RFT, Usages/Car (Monthly) and actions driving continuous improvements, which demonstrate to the customer, strong partnership support.
Develop relationships with the customer at all levels to ensure that the BASF team are seen as a partner of choice.
Review and oversee workload planning between UK & Overseas.
WHAT YOU OFFER

The successful candidate should ideally have 5 GCSEs grade 4 and above or equivalent and/or a Level 3 NVQ qualification preferably in Manufacturing/Production and you should have a good understanding and knowledge of paint and paint application. (Theory and Practical)
Ideally you have experience of leading a team and can drive and motivate a team.
You have experience of working with various types of measurement software (PELT/BYK Mac/Wavescan), as well as having the ability to use Microsoft/IT systems.
You have good communication skills and can collaborate well with internal and customer teams.
You will need to work in-line with BASF Health and Safety policies, whilst also adhering to customer site rules. This includes ensuring self and others understand and adhere to ALL general safety requirements. Driving Safety first principles.

You must hold a valid UK driving license as frequent travel is required.
