The role




Norton is looking for an experienced Technical Trainer to lead the development and delivery of technical training programs for our global motorcycle dealer network, employees, and partners. This role is critical to ensuring consistent technical excellence across our brand, driving quality in service delivery, and supporting the launch and maintenance of new products.


The Technical Trainer will collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams to stay at the forefront of vehicle systems and diagnostics, converting complex technical knowledge into engaging, practical learning experiences. This position requires both deep technical understanding and the ability to effectively communicate with varied audiences across international markets.

Duties/Responsibilities

Conduct training needs analysis across global dealership networks to assess current skill levels and identify gaps.

Design, develop, and deliver technical training programs tailored for dealer technicians, employees, and external partners.

Liaise with Engineering, Product Development, and Aftersales teams to gather technical data and product insights.

Create engaging training materials including manuals, presentations, e-learning modules, and hands-on activities.

Establish training schedules, agendas, and detailed course objectives for various technical levels.

Facilitate in-person and virtual workshops, certification programs, and technical demonstrations.

Monitor and report on attendance, performance, and feedback, adjusting programs based on data and input.

Maintain up-to-date technical expertise through regular industry research, workshops, and technical publications.

Ensure content accuracy and clarity by working alongside subject matter experts (SMEs).

Support the rollout of new products or technologies by preparing launch-specific technical training.

Track and report training effectiveness and learner progression through Learning Management Systems (LMS).



Personal Specification

Minimum 5 years of technical training experience in the motorcycle or automotive sector.

Recognised technical qualification in motorcycles (IMI, NVQ, or equivalent); training qualification preferred.

Proficiency with instructional design tools and e-learning development platforms.

Experience using and managing Learning Management Systems (LMS).Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.

Strong organisational and project management skills - able to juggle multiple training programs simultaneously.

High level of digital fluency - confident with Microsoft 365 and virtual training tools.

Soft skills: patience, adaptability, cultural awareness, and confidence speaking to diverse global audiences.

Analytical thinking and feedback-driven problem-solving mindset.

Willingness to travel internationally to support training delivery at dealer and market level.
