Engineering Technical Trainer (Capital Equipment)

Rapiscan Systems is an industry leader in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints to help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud. We offer a broad array of scanning system configurations that leverage low-, medium-, and high-energy X-ray technology--or multiple X-ray technologies--to address each customer's unique security application requirements.

Role Overview



Primary function is to deliver technical operator and service training to customers, distributors and company service personnel.

The position will encompass training on a wide variety of Rapiscan products and technology and will consist of both formal classroom and hands-on training. This position will be based in the UK with a focus of training to be conducted in Stoke on Trent and some travel other locations in the UK and EU

Will also be required to assist with additional training assignments globally.

Obtain and maintain the appropriate knowledge of the various Rapiscan products and technology to ensure high quality training delivery. Review and provide edits / updates on user manuals, training presentations and other related documentation. Maintain appropriate training records, student feedback and required administrative information. Coordinates or performs administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Project management and presentation skills and the ability to resolve complex problems and issues. Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on rapport building, listening, and the ability to deliver effective training programs Provide continuous feedback on areas of improvement, customer requests and observations Minimum of three years delivering technical training in a formal classroom and hands-on venue

Candidate Requirements



Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience Excellent written and verbal communications skills Ability to demonstrate effective hands-on learning Position requires the ability to travel globally to conduct training and obtain knowledge of products It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem Must be able to complete job responsibilities working with different time zone needs such as attending late night/early morning meetings by phone and/or web to meet business needs; Must travel internationally and be able to acquire all necessary travel documents
