Barocal, a spin-out from the University of Cambridge developing breakthrough cooling and heating technologies. Founded by Professor Xavier Moya, Barocal is the global technology leader in solid-state cooling. Our technology is based on 15 years of research and may deliver 2-3 times higher energy efficiency compared to traditional systems while eliminating harmful refrigerant gases. Supported by Kiko Ventures, Cambridge Enterprise, Breakthrough Energy, and the European Innovation Council, Barocal's technology is poised to transform entire industries, impacting over 40% of global energy use.
We are currently recruiting experienced technicians for roles in a dynamic and innovative R&D environment.
Successful candidates will, as a prerequisite, possess strong practical engineering and lab skills combined with attention to detail, health and safety awareness, and the ability to create and follow rigorous procedures for the operation of experimental equipment. Also essential will be a willingness to demonstrate a flexible and positive approach to taking on new challenges and acquiring new skills which may be outside their existing comfort zone. Experience in lab management will be an advantage for some roles, as will a knowledge of HVAC and/or hydraulic systems.
