The Role:



Join Hampshire Engineering Services as a

Technician Degree Apprentice

and play a key role in delivering essential infrastructure projects across highways, structures, and water. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while earning a degree and building a career in

civil engineering

What you'll do:



As a

Technician Apprentice

, you'll support Senior Engineers and Engineers throughout the project lifecycle--from design to construction.




Your responsibilities will include:



Design

- Identify and propose solutions, prepare technical reports and produce designs for schemes using computer aided software, such as AutoCAD, Civils 3d, Info Drainage.

Implementation

- To prepare contract documents and to ensure the construction of works on site is to programme and within the project budget. To provide technical support throughout the construction period.

Project Management

- To support the programming of activities for schemes and thereafter implement, monitor and control progress to achieve completion to programme.

Financial Control

- To prepare estimates and monitor and review project costs, including works and fees of internal and external consultants, to ensure completion within the agreed budgets.

Communication

- To liaise with project client, project team, internal/external consultants, contractors and the public, face to face, by telephone and by email. To prepare reports, as required.

Training

- To maintain and update personal technical expertise in new methods and technology. To assist with the training and development of other Technicians.



Apprenticeship Information:



While working as a Technician, over the next five years, you'll complete a Level 6 Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Portsmouth. The programme includes an end-point assessment by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), leading to Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.
