Technician - Doncaster
Our Technician role is to support the maintenance of plant in the McCulloch fleet ensuring safety, compliance, and reliability. The role will also carry out the role of 'Fitter cover' on Track Operational shifts when required for the successful delivery of operational jobs.
Key Areas of Responsibility
To deliver high quality, consistent and competent mechanical fitting in accordance with project / company requirements, standards and procedures.
Prioritise work and deliver in a professional capacity all maintenance requirements and fault analysis with a view to maintain and repair all plant, and equipment.
Conduct maintenance and testing.
Ensure ?all plant stays within its compliance check dates.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication with your peers, attending weekly calls.
Become proficient in the use of the company's software programme, Check Safe. Use the programme to deliver an excellent standard of maintenance.
Actively manage the Asset register to ensure all plant maintained correctly.
Liaise with Operational Planning team, to ensure all plant requirements are understood and ready on time.
Liaise with the Transport Manager to effectively manage the plant, ensuring at the correct depot when required for Operations.
Maintain and implement the company's high health and safety values.
Qualifications & Desirable skills
Level 3 repair and maintenance qualification with a strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency with hand and power tools.
Experience in equipment repair and maintenance.
Ability to assemble machinery and components.
Familiarity with fabrication, soldering, and welding techniques.
Understanding of electrical systems and schematics.
? Working Arrangements
Travel Requirements: Whilst based at Doncaster you may be required to travel to various work sites and depots across the UK as required.
Weekend and Night Shifts: You are expected to be available to work up to two weekends per month on railway projects, subject to business needs. This may include night shifts, depending on the scheduling of Fitter shifts.
Shift Allowance: An enhanced shift allowance of 25 per hour will be paid for Fitter shifts.
Overtime Pay: Any hours worked beyond the contracted 40 hours per week will be compensated at time and a half.
