Technician (Maternity Cover)
Department of Biomedical Services, Wellcome Trust, Roosevelt Drive, Headington, OX3

We are seeking to recruit a one- year fixed term maternity cover Technician to join the Department of Biomedical Services (BMS). The department provides for the care and welfare of animals in experimental research and in doing so we support the scientific community across the University. We are, in effect, an internal business with researchers as our customers.

This employment is full-time, 1-year fixed term position (maternity cover), 36.5 hours per week. This post may be available as a secondment. We are advertising this post as a full-time position however, we would also consider part time and job share applicants.

We are looking for someone who has the ability to organise their own work and take initiative as appropriate as well as communicate effectively with both colleagues and scientists, has a good attention to details and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

This post will provide assistance in the day to day running of the facility, ensuring that animal welfare is priority at all times. You will have relevant experience working in a laboratory animal environment and hold an active Home Office personal licence.

An appointment on the Grade 3 scale (with appropriate adjustment of duties) may be considered.
