Job Brief

The role of the Technicians Assistant is to support the team by assisting with the coordination and execution of technical tasks. This role involves providing support to both technicians and electricians, ensuring efficient workflow, and contributing to the successful completion of works.

You will be expected to gain an awareness of various fire, security and electrical systems, as well as learning industry terminology. You must be well presented, a quick learner, and able to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

As much as is possible, the Assistant will meet the Technician/Electrician at one set destination and travel with them in a company van. When required, the Assistant will be expected to use their own vehicle to travel to and from site to site, distances travelled depend on the needs of the business and the works that are scheduled, which will be predominantly be across Sussex and Kent.

Provide hands-on support to technicians and electricians during installations, repairs and maintenance, duties may include:

o Footing ladders.

o Retrieving equipment and/or tools.

o Laying conduit and/or running cables.

Adhere to all health and safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure tools and equipment are used safely.

Keep work areas clean and organised to prevent hazards.

Assisting with anything pertaining to health and safety where more than one person is required.

Support other team members as and when required.

Carry out all mandatory health and safety training.

Duties can change from time to time subject to client's requirements and change to the marketplace.

Contractual Information

Job Type:

Full-time, Permanent

Probation Period:

6 Months

Hours of Work:

Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 5pm with a 30minute unpaid break for lunch

Salary:

15,704 - 25,396.80 per annum / 7.55 - 12.21 per hour (minimum wage according to age).

Allowances:

Travel and mileage claims are available

You will be provided with the following:

22 days paid holiday plus all UK statutory Bank Holidays (increases with time served)

Enrolled into company pension scheme after 3 months (opt out if you choose)

Company uniform

Essential:

Full UK driving licence

Access of own vehicle

Business (Class 3) insurance on your vehicle (or willing to add this to current insurance)

Further Requirements

To be familiar with the companies' policies, procedures and guidelines which are set out in the Employee Handbook. Particularly, those associated with Health and Safety.

To undertake training and development essential for the role.

To complete a 6-month probationary period and participate in annual appraisals with your line manager to monitor performance and set objectives.

To undertake any other reasonable duty, at the same level of responsibility, that has been requested by senior staff.
