We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven
Technologist
to join the Technical team at MM Flowers. Supporting the Head of Technical, this role is vital in maintaining technical compliance, driving quality improvement, and delivering excellent service across designated customer accounts.
This is an ideal role for someone with a background in technical, quality, or compliance roles within food, fresh produce, or horticulture, looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will use technical knowledge and data analysis to support product standards and continuous improvement across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Account Support
Assist the Head of Technical in delivering high-quality technical service to assigned customer accounts.
Manage day-to-day technical requirements within specific product categories or tasks.
Prepare technical summaries, reports, and responses for both internal and external stakeholders.
Represent MM Flowers during customer visits, audits, and virtual meetings.
Complaint & Data Analysis
Analyse complaint, refund, and rejection data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Support the implementation and tracking of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Monitor progress against improvement plans and escalate unresolved issues as needed.
Technical Compliance & Documentation
Assist in the creation and maintenance of QAS documents, technical specifications, and other product data.
Ensure all technical documentation aligns with customer and legislative requirements.
Communicate updates to relevant teams when standards or specifications change.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Quality, Procurement, Production, and Commercial teams to ensure compliance and consistency.
Contribute to technical projects, product launches, packaging updates, and seasonal preparations.
Collaborate with the Technical Services team to keep specifications and supplier documentation up to date.
Reporting & Portal Management
Maintain accurate and detailed records of technical activities and outcomes.
Support the updating of customer technical portals and systems as required.
Provide clear and timely reports for internal meetings and customer updates.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a technical, compliance, or quality role in food, horticulture, or fresh produce
Strong attention to detail and comfort working with technical documentation and product specifications
Confident interpreting data and identifying root causes from complaints or quality feedback
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks calmly and effectively
Strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative working style
Desirable Experience
Experience supporting or managing retail customer accounts
Familiarity with customer portals and technical complaint systems
Understanding of HACCP, BRC, or other technical and audit standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical documentation tools
