Assistant Shop Manager
to join our team for a
3-month temporary post

About the Role
You'll support the Shop Manager in the daily operations of our charity shop, helping to drive sales, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain a welcoming environment. You'll also take charge when the Shop Manager is away, ensuring the shop runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in achieving sales targets and managing Gift Aid contributions
Help recruit, train, and support volunteers
Maintain high standards of stock presentation and shop cleanliness
Support online sales and social media engagement
Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve queries professionally
Ensure compliance with health & safety and SVP policies
Act as a keyholder and take responsibility for shop opening/closing
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Retail experience and a track record of meeting targets
Strong communication and organisational skills
Good level of English, Maths, and IT skills
A proactive, customer-focused approach
Alignment with the ethos and values of the SVP
Desirable:
Experience in charity retail and working with volunteers
Familiarity with EPOS systems and visual merchandising
Understanding of the SVP's mission and work
