About the Role | Temporary Kitchen Assistant in Burnley

Main Responsibilities | School Kitchen Assistant Duties

Assist with basic food preparation under the guidance of the chef and kitchen team Serve meals to pupils and staff during designated meal times Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment, including dishwashing and cleaning down surfaces Follow all food safety and health and safety procedures as directed Help with unloading deliveries and stock rotation as required Support the wider catering team with ad hoc duties to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Who We're Looking For | Kitchen Assistant Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting Keen attention to cleanliness and food hygiene standards Good communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) required due to the educational setting
