Job Description
Calling all book production candidates looking for a fully remote role with an immediate start!
Our client is a provider of editorial and production services to many prestigious academic publishers and they are looking for a Temporary Production Editor to join their busy team for a 2-month assignment. In this role, you will oversee the production processes for a range of academic book projects, including HSS and STM titles, overseeing them from receipt of manuscript through to delivery of final files to the client.
They are happy to consider fully remote candidates (based in the UK) and would like them to start asap.
Key responsibilities include:
- Liaising with authors, suppliers and external collaborators
- Commissioning freelance work (proofreading, copy-editing, indexing)
- Managing the production schedule of multiple titles
- Setting budgets and schedules for assigned titles
- Supplying final files to client to the agreed schedule
- Attending team meetings
- Gathering final corrections from the author and proofreader, and collating them for final check revision
- Assisting with ad hoc duties to maintain an accurate production workflow
