TEMPORARY SHOP ASSISTANT (POTENTIAL FOR FULL-TIME)

Applicants must have at least 2 years of retail experience AND 2 years of customer service experience. You must be 18 or over due to the sale of alcohol. Only experienced applicants will be considered.
Overview

We are looking for a trustworthy, professional, and customer-focused Shop Assistant to join our specialist off-licence during the busy Christmas period. This temporary position has the potential to become a full-time permanent role for the right candidate.

Customer service is the main focus of the role. We want someone who genuinely enjoys helping customers, giving recommendations, and creating a positive shopping experience.

Training Information

All new staff receive full training across all areas of the shop.

Training starts with:

Customer service Shop floor duties Stocking and organisation Product knowledge
Till training is introduced later, once you are confident in these areas and ready to take on transaction responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with product recommendations Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented shop environment Restock shelves and help with stock rotation and inventory tasks Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues Support daily store operations Operate the till once fully trained
Requirements (Essential)

Minimum 2 years' retail experience Minimum 2 years' customer service experience Must be 18 or over Trustworthy, reliable, and able to work independently Strong communication and customer-service skills Weekend availability (required) Knowledge of wines, spirits, or beer is an advantage
