Job Description

We require a team of people to help assist our team of tent erectors in pitching/striking of a large tented village for the Open Golf in Port Rush. The village is based at Ulster University, Cromore Rd, Coleraine, BT52 1SA

You will need to find your own way there and back. There is a university train station where the tented village is based. Local buses are close by. Free parking will be available on site.

You will be part of a large team who will be assisting our team of staff in pitching / striking a large number of tents mainly 2 & 4 man tents for the Open Golf Tented village. You will also be expected to insert camp beds/mattresses into the tents.

Days required to work:

We require assistance on the following days, at the following times each shift will last for 10 hours and has a one hour unpaid lunch.

You do not have to be available for every day. Likewise, if you cannot do one of the other days this is not a problem and will not prevent us from employing you.

Other

Onsite along with some online training will be given on how to pitch the tents. Free Car parking is available on site. It is your responsibility to get to the site each day on time. Please wear suitable clothing including footwear as we still work if it is raining. Therefore waterproof jacket, trousers and proper footwear. Likewise, if it is hot and sunny please wear / bring sun cream. Please bring your own food and drinks as there is nothing on site and with 1 hour for lunch, there is not enough time to leave the site to get lunch. There will be daily targets of the number of tents we expect to be pitched / taken down by the team of erectors. If we manage to beat these targets we may finish early and you will still get paid for the whole day. If the weather is really bad and likely to continue for the whole day you could be sent home early and you will be paid on a pro rata basis. If it is really bad weather (heavy rain) we may have to postpone work and therefore your hours may be extended so the work can be completed on time.

Pay Scale

115 per day for over 21+ years old for 9 hour day. If you work all pitch and strike days as required by the company then a 11 per day bonus is added to your salary.

95 per day for 18-20 Years old for 9 hour day. If you work all pitch and strike days as required by the company then a 9 per day bonus is added to your salary.

If you are 17 years old you may be considered but at a rate of 75 per day for 9 hour day. If you work all pitch and strike days as required by the company then a 7 per day bonus is added to your salary.

If you are 16 years old you may be considered but at a rate of 65 per day for 8 hour day. If you work all pitch and strike days as required by the company then a 6 per day bonus is added to your salary.

You will be paid on completion of the work on Friday 1st August 2025 direct into your bank account. ? You must have a right to work in the United Kingdom and your wage is subject to HMRC Taxes and NI if thresholds are met. We are a family company based in West Sussex and we create tented villages for between 10-2000 people all around the country throughout the summer. Past Villages include the Olympics 2012, British Grand Prix, Open Golf Championship, Isle of Man TT races
