Temporary Works Coordinator - Major Rail Infrastructure Project (Oxford)
Location: Oxford (Hybrid - 3 days on site, 2 days remote) Permanent Role
We are supporting a leading civil engineering contractor on the delivery of a high-profile infrastructure scheme in central Oxford. The project includes platform extensions, the installation of new permanent way, and the construction of an underpass on a key route into the city.
Due to upcoming changes within the team, they are now seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator with a strong civil and rail engineering background to support delivery at a critical stage of the programme.
Role Overview:
As Temporary Works Coordinator, you will lead the coordination and management of temporary works across multiple packages. The successful candidate will work closely with the on-site delivery team and ensure all temporary works are designed, implemented, and monitored to the highest safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities include:
Coordination and approval of temporary works designs
Acting as the primary point of contact for site teams, designers, and subcontractors
Ensuring compliance with all temporary works procedures and relevant standards
Supporting site inspections and maintaining accurate records
Liaising with project leadership on planning and risk management of upcoming activities
Requirements:
Civil/structural engineering background with relevant rail project experience
TWC qualification and a solid understanding of industry standards and best practice
Experience delivering large infrastructure or rail schemes
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Able to travel to site in Oxford 3 days per week
Package:
Open to permanent or contract professionals
Competitive day rate or salary, dependent on experience
Flexible working arrangements: typically 3 days on site, 2 remote
