An exciting opportunity is available to join our expanding Building Maintenance Team.



We are looking to recruit a Voids Officer to our Pre-Planned and Tenancy Changes Team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a full time permanent position, 37 hours a week.



As a key member of the Tenancy Change and Voids team, you will be responsible for co-ordination, monitoring and planning of all change of tenancy work and internal improvement on PCC housing stock, to ensure targets are achieved, maintaining records and liaising with Programme Managers and Housing Management Officers.

Qualified to HNC or equivalent NVQ Level in a related construction management subject with a significant period of related work experience that would give a broad understanding of building construction.

Your main principal duties and responsibility will include:

Oversee and supervise Framework Contractor & Direct Labour Teams and monitor individual void properties to ensure that they are let promptly.

Support and advise the Team Manager (Housing Management) and the Building Maintenance Senior Management Team, with regards to progress, quality & time taken to complete voids, reporting back on trends and developing strategic solutions to reduce the length of time properties are void.

Monitor all information in relation to voids including an annual voids survey, ensuring customer feedback is considered in the proposed development of services.

Work within budget constraints in the delivery of an enhanced service ensuring that value for money and quality of stock is not compromised.

Interpret and collate housing tenancy management and building maintenance void information to assist in evidencing information to the Senior Voids Officer..

Control and monitor the quality of workmanship and safe working practice of both in-house operatives and framework contractors to ensure compliance with project specification.
