Job Description

Tenant Services Administrator (Housing Management Lead)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tenant Services Administrator (Housing Management Lead) to join our Housing team.

The role will involve providing a professional, customer focussed front line service for Hightowns internal and external customers as well as the provision of efficient and effective administration service to support Hightowns Housing team.

About Us

Hightown is a charitable housing association operating principally in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. We believe everyone should have a home and the support they need, so our aim is to build new homes and to provide excellent housing and support.

We currently manage over 8,000 homes from our head office in Hemel Hempstead and have a development programme that will deliver around 500 new affordable homes each year.
Once our social housing properties are built, they are let to people who cannot afford to buy or rent at full market values. The majority of our properties are offered to people on local authority housing lists to rent.

The Role

The role will involve:

  • Providing administrative support to Housing Officers dealing with housing management issues including general communications, mail merges and newsletters.
  • Responding to general housing management enquiries including pet permission requests, reports of anti-social behaviour, parking, and tenancy changes.
  • Processing mutual exchange applications including assessing the eligibility of initial applications, liaising with other landlords to obtain references, and co-ordinating the exchange process.
  • Liaising with appropriate external agencies and internal departments to deal with housing management issues.
  • Ensuring that accurate and detailed information is obtained from tenants, updating tenancy records where appropriate and keeping accurate records of customer contacts, including complaints.
  • Working closely with other departments, including Income Recovery, Lettings and Property Services, to be able to resolve general enquiries on a range of matters at first contact.
Skills/Experience
  • Strong administration skills with the ability to formal letters, documents, and layout forms and tables.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong planning, organisation and time management skills.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role and, ideally, experience of working within a housing association.
  • Experience of managing processes and day to day decision making in an office environment.
The Benefits

In return for your hard work and commitment, we offer a considerable benefits package. This includes:
  • Generous annual leave allowance of 33 days per year, including statutory bank holidays, rising to 34 days with appropriate service
  • Regular support from your line manager and colleagues
  • Annual bonus based on satisfactory performance
  • Monthly attendance bonus on top of your basic salary
  • Annual salary and cost of living review
