Vacancy: Tendering Engineer, working for our Transmission proposals team within Smart Infrastructure, Electrification, and Automation.

We are on the lookout for an experienced Tendering Engineer to join the team based in Hebburn, Northeast England. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to join a well-established proposals team in the HV Transmission sector.

Location: This role would allow you to work out of our Hebburn office, adapting to Siemens\xe2\x80\x99s flexible hybrid working policy which allows you to work remotely for 3/4 days a week.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll make a difference by:

• Preparation and co-ordination of proposals from receipt of inquiry through to handover to the delivery team (including preparation of calculation sheets and scope of supply documents).

• Prepare quality bids to meet and succeed in our business targets of order intake and profitability.

• To ensure that all material, resource, and sub-contractor costs utilized in the preparation of the bid are correct and valid - both at the time of tender submission and contract award and that they are appropriate for the works proposed.

• Consult with the; business area management, sales, operations, and engineering teams to determine Bid / No Bid decisions based on strategic aims and resources.

• Arrange and chair tender kick-off meetings to brief colleagues on the requirements of the opportunity and help identify key threats/opportunities.

• Arrange and chair tender review meetings and handovers by tender processes and signature protocol.

• Present completed bids to the relevant signatory for sign-off, ahead of client submission.

• Follow up tender responses including the support of post-tender submission negotiations.

• Consulting with legal and commercial functions as necessary with regards to Terms and Conditions.

• Fully conversant with Microsoft packages \xe2\x80\x93 Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.

You\xe2\x80\x99re excited to build on your existing expertise, including:

• Has previously worked in a Tendering role.

• Has demonstrable experience of working within an engineering industry \xe2\x80\x93 with Electrical Distribution or Transmission being advantageous \xe2\x80\x93 especially where National Grid has been the end client!

• Experience working on bids from \xe2\x80\x98inception to completion\xe2\x80\x99.

• Familiarity in working with and coordinating multiple stakeholders within one project team.

• Ability to communicate with people at all levels, technical, non-technical, verbal, and written.

• Ability to work cohesively with other teams including the; sales (pre-tendering activities), operations and procurement team.

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering is the suggested minimum qualification \xe2\x80\x93 however suitable industry experience in the Transmission and Distribution sectors would be considered.
