Looking for a nursery where you can really make a difference to young children early years while being part of a friendly team? We are looking for a qualified Nursery Practitioner for our term time nursery in Peacehaven. The position in this busy childcare business will be for approximately 16 -40 hours per week TERM TIME ONLY based between Monday to Friday, 7.30am-4pm. There will also be overtime to cover sickness and holidays on an ad hoc basis.
Candidate Specification (Essential):
- is 17yrs +
- Level 2 or higher qualification in childcare (please note that this must be on the DfE's approved list, which can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/eyfs-staffchild-ratios-dfe-approved-qualifications. Qualifications such as Health & Social Care are not accepted for this role)
- Experience working with children
- is reliable, patient and has a positive attitude,
- loves working with children,
- has verifiable references,
- flexible availability
- either has or is willing to complete a 12 hr paediatric first aid course
Candidate Specification (Desirable):
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS
- Knowledge/experience of Makaton
- Knowledge/experience of Forest School
- Passion for sustainability and the environment is great, as we strive to be an eco-friendly setting
- Willingness to consider sustainable ways to travel to work, e.g. walking/cycling/public transport

Your day to day tasks could include ...
support children learning indoors and out following current best practices
go on outings with the children and other staff members to the local area
to make learning observations of the children including wow's
support children with planned activities and following their lead
carry out the daily care routines of the children such as feeding and nappy changing
keep play area tidy and stimulating
light cleaning i.e. sweeping up from lunch time or activities
to complete tasks and courses that the owner/manager see fit
to comply with all policies and procedures at the setting
to take reasonable care to ensure safety and health in the workplace
to complete all essential courses at the cost of the employer but understand that if you leave Wild Monkeys within a year of completing the course you may be asked to pay pro rata towards it
