Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our small team. This is initially to cover a maternity leave, however, it could lead to a more permanent position for the right candidate.

We are a very small sessional pre school nursery attached to a local primary school, offering Outstanding childcare to to 21 children per session. The children in our care are aged from 2years to 4 years, in the main our morning sessions offer pre school for our older children and the afternoon sessions offer provision for mixed ages from 2-4 years. Our team is small and so we would be looking for a strong, dedicated practitioner offer the dedication and support to this team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children in a nursery setting. This role is essential for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the development and well-being of young children. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting children's learning through play and providing high-quality childcare.

Responsibilities



Plan and implement engaging activities that promote children's physical, emotional, and social development. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children. Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records of their development. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the nursery. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery setting. Support children in developing their independence and self-help skills. Opportunities to take on further responsibilities such as SEN.

Skills



Experience working with children in a childcare or nursery environment is essential. Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and colleagues effectively. A nurturing attitude with a genuine passion for working with young children is crucial for success in this role. Pay: 24,126.00-24,522.16 per year
