We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Terminal Controller to coordinate all landside and vessel-related activities.
As the Terminal Controller, you will manage inbound and outbound cargo movements, oversee terminal stocks, maintain ship files, and serve as the primary contact for our valued customers.
Day to Day duties:
Stock Management
: Administer and maintain the stock management system.
Customer Complaints
: Log, coordinate, and monitor customer complaints.
Financial Reporting
: Collate operational month-end figures for finance.
Vessel Scheduling
: Manage and maintain vessel schedules for the terminal as required.
Daily Stock Reporting
: Collaborate with the operations team to plan and report daily stock figures internally and externally.
Bagging Plans
: Collate daily and weekly bagging plans.
Customer Interaction
: Serve as the first point of contact for all terminal customers regarding complaints, stock queries, and cargo bookings.
Stock Loss & Damage Management
: Manage stock loss and damage records, working with customers to reach agreeable resolutions in line with contracted terms.
Collection Oversight
: Oversee the planning, loading, arrival, and departure of all collections, supported by weighbridge operations.
Vessel Outturns
: Build and deliver completed vessel outturns to required stakeholders and maintain accurate ship files.
Customs Compliance
: Maintain and manage terminal stocks in line with customs control requirements, performing customs checks as needed.
Data Management
: Record and process terminal statistical data and input KPI data.
Weighbridge Processes
: Maintain a working understanding of weighbridge processes.
Skills & Experience
Port Operations Experience
: Proven experience in port-related operations.
IT Proficiency
: Strong skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Driving Licence
: Full UK driving licence.
Analytical Skills
: Strong conceptual and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to Detail
: Meticulous with the ability to multi-task effectively.
Pressure Management
: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Teamwork and Independence
: Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
Documentation Skills
: Excellent management of documentation.
Communication Skills
: Brilliant oral and written communication abilities.
Terminal Operating Systems
: Good working understanding of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS).
Flexibility
: Adaptable approach to working hours and duties, including shift work and occasional outdoor operational tasks.
Port Operations Knowledge
: Good understanding of port operations and working procedures.
Office Hours
: Typically, from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday.
