Job Description

This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week Monday-Friday


Flexible or compressed working hours available


This role is based in the office

Do you enjoy fault finding and problem solving? Want to develop your testing skills further? All whilst protecting national security?




Within this role you will support IT Services for government departments in the UK and around the globe to support national security.


You will bring your testing knowledge to an expanding agile development team, ensuring products continually meet the high standards and security needs of the wider government departments.


You'll use your communication skills to build relationships with development teams where your attention to detail will identify issues to ensure products deployed will be fit for purpose for the vital work you'll support.


You will regularly attend stand up meetings led by delivery leads, to ensure that you understand the current priorities of projects and can plan or adjust the testing schedule accordingly.


No two days will be the same, one day you could be manually testing the next generation desktop, then you could be learning how to automate bespoke rest APIs.


You will be working within a positive, creative and friendly environment where you will be provided with on-the-job training as well as formal training qualifications.

More About You




To apply for this role, you will already have:

Experience in writing test plans, scripts and completion reports. Knowledge of workstation hardware, Microsoft products and web applications. The ability to accurately present information.

It would be beneficial if you also have one of the following (although these are not essential):

Experience in the use of automation testing tools. Familiarisation with the Agile framework. ISTQB or ISEB Certification. Understanding of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) standard.

Using your diverse range of skills, you will:

Perform work in accordance with department policies, processes and procedures. Perform testing as required to support project, change and release activities within required timeframes. Design test cases, create test scripts and identify test data to meet the required objectives as defined in the project or change. Accurately, impartially and concisely interpret and record results, reporting defects. Generate test reports to detail success/failure of the testing performed. Complete tasks to agreed quality and time. Ensure stakeholders are informed of progress and immediately communicate risks to quality and schedule. Input into the test plan creation for projects or changes. Be responsible for your continued professional development.
