Computacenter is looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer who will join our Test & Validation Management team supporting major customers. The role will be UK based to provide support to secure customers.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-4 years' experience, ideally with a track record of developing scripted solutions for IT Operational Teams within PowerShell. You will be a key member of the team, developing and maintaining the automation codebase, responsible for leading the support of tools/automations for key customers, automating existing test scenarios to deliver solutions for both internal and customer systems. You should be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, work within an agile framework and have strong organisation and problem-solving skills, whilst also having the ability to assess and prioritise tasks without close supervision.

What you'll do
Develop scripted solutions to replace / supplement business processes.
Review requirement documentation and develop workflow-based automation.
Act as a SME for number of solutions developed by the team and support/assist end users to leverage complete benefit of the solution.
Continual delivery of new applications / features to a high quality by consistently reviewing other developers code and communicating / providing feedback when required.
Stakeholder engagement will be key, and you will establish and maintain good relationships with the stakeholders both internally and in the customer organisation, and the various service delivery teams within Computacenter.
Champion Automation within the organisation.
What you'll need
Install and configure solutions for the new customer and assist internal and external users with support queries.
Participate with the development team in the design, development, coding, testing and debugging of applications/automations
Provide suggestions for process and product improvement
Oversee and ensure the quality code from other developers in the team
Understand the principles of good software design development and be able to communicate those to the team
Working to SLAs and deadlines
Prioritising and managing several tasks at a single time
Establishing a good working relationship with wider teams and customers alike
Keeping up to date with advancements in technology
Document writing / process creation
Key Requirements
Essential 3+ years of support and / or development experience
A strong understanding of agile design principles
Working in Agile/Scrum environments
In depth knowledge of PowerShell
Basic understanding of C#, .NET
Experience of using a source code control system (Azure Devops, Git, Bitbucket)
Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure)
Confidence to challenge existing design practices and processes
Excellent decision making/problem solving skills
Ability to write unit tests and feature tests
Experience contributing to a DevOps environment (testing, CI, CD, automation)
Awareness of automation principles and market leading automation software
Holds current driving licence and able and willing to drive
