Purpose of Role
The role of the Test & Build Engineer is to build, configure and test Zenitel systems and products to customer requirements and EN54 standards,
Key Responsibilities
Test products in accordance with Zenitel's Test instructions and verify test reports, conduct Factory Acceptance Testing with customers
Assemble rack systems in accordance with Zenitel's build instructions
Check availability of parts for product build and consumables and report shortages to purchasing
Assist and support site teams with installation and commissioning
Identify and report on errors in test procedures and drawings and continuously look for ways to improve rack design and build processes
Provide technical support to other departments in producing equipment prototypes, cables and interconnections, test harnesses and test jigs
Manage own work effectively with minimal supervision
Good organizational skills
Good computer skills: use of MS office e.g. Excel, Word
Attention to detail
Product Testing following agreed standards
Hand soldering and inspection skills.
Wiring loom / rack wiring
Ability to follow accurately written procedures/work instructions
Work as part of the team and communicate well with other areas of the company
Ability to deal with change and be prepared to help other areas of the business as when needed
Ability to read and understand technical drawings

Experience of mechanical assembly
Experience of electrical/electronic assembly, wiring and
Experience of Soldering, Surface mount Soldering (SMD) would be advantage
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
