Although the team may be considered relatively small with circa 25 colleagues, the devil is in the detail - our highly skilled technical team are pitted against some of the construction industry's toughest testing challenges, including making sure the roof of Wembley Stadium doesn't collapse!
Lucideon is looking for a motivated and technically minded
Test Engineer
to join our Construction - Structures team. In this hands-on role, you will carry out testing on a wide range of construction products and components to British and European standards, as well as bespoke client specifications.
You will play a key role in ensuring products meet required performance expectations, gathering and analysing data, and producing high?quality technical reports. This position also involves direct communication with clients, so confidence and clarity in communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities
With appropriate training, you will be able to work independently on the following:
Interpreting technical test requirements.
Developing and compiling test methods.
Liaising with clients both in person and via remote channels.
Identifying and specifying the test and measurement equipment required.
Instructing the construction of test rigs and/or the preparation of samples.
Setting up instrumentation and data?gathering systems.
Conducting a range of physical and mechanical tests.
Collecting, analysing, and formatting test data.
Producing accurate, clear, and concise test reports for clients.
Supporting wider team activities such as test rig design and identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and workflow.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Level 3 qualification (A?Level / HNC or equivalent) in Mechanical, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
Previous work experience or university project work related to Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
Desirable:
Degree in a relevant Engineering or Science subject.
Experience with or exposure to construction industry products and components.
Basic CAD competency (2D and 3D).
