Applus+ IDIADA is a global partner to the automotive industry, supporting its clients in their product development activities by providing design, engineering, testing and homologation services. The homologation team provides support for our customers including type approval testing to EU and UN Regulations, conformity of production, in service conformity testing, documentation and cybersecurity services.



To support the continuing expansion of IDIADA activities in the UK, we are seeking a Test Engineer to join the team based at Nuneaton. This role is responsible for the execution of a variety of Automotive Testing activities to support our customers including EV OEMs and charging station manufacturers.

The main tasks of the role include:

  • To review and evaluate global technical standards and documentation for vehicle charging interfaces (training will be provided internally).
  • Project management and workshop team monitoring.
  • Communication with customers and suppliers of charging equipment.
  • Definition of test cases according to the requirements of customers and standards.
  • Plan, prepare and carry out charge tests in our workshops and in-field (on-road).
  • Execute conformance and interoperability tests with electric vehicles and charging stations.
  • Analyse test results and report to customers.
  • Participation in international R&D projects.
  • Usage of specific test tools for charging interfaces and test case programming.
  • Support business development activities.
  • Ensure alignment with corporate procedures in terms of the management of the project, test samples, test equipment/facilities, quality, OHS, logistics, outsourcing/purchasing\xe2\x80\xa6
  • To flexibly support other automotive testing related activities as required by the business.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or similar.
  • Analytical capacity of electronic and electrical circuits.
  • Knowledge and experience working with LabView, CAN tools and or Matlab Simulink is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of network protocol analysis (IPv6, TCP and UDP).
  • Experience with test equipment use (i.e. sensors, data acquisition, etc) and management (i.e calibration) is an asset.
  • Must have a full UK driving license.
  • Available to travel within the UK and abroad as per project requirements.
