We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer reporting to the Lead Test Engineer within the Innovation Group. The Test Engineer will lead the assembly of prototype mechanical seals, conduct tests and analyse results to ensure prototypes meet product requirements while documenting findings and sharing insights with the team. Additionally the role involves maintaining a safe environment, troubleshooting equipment and prototype issues as well as providing input for the design of test equipment.
This role is great for a hands on Test Engineer with experience of problem solving and planning.
This role is based from our Slough working Monday to Friday normal office hours.

Duties & Responsibilities
(not limited to)
Interpret complex prototype drawings, test specifications, and requirements.
Collaborate with product teams to develop test plans and experimental designs.
Execute research and development test plans, including:
Assembling prototype products.
Conducting tests using custom-built or bespoke equipment.
Documenting procedures, findings, and test results.
Creating detailed test reports with written analysis and graphical data.
Presenting results to cross-functional teams, providing insights into key test events.
Perform part conditioning using experimental manufacturing techniques to meet finish and design specifications.
Draft and refine new processes, procedures, and test methodologies.
Reconfigure and adapt equipment for non-standard tests through a combination of requirement analysis, design thinking, and planning.
Manage personal workload and schedule independently, delivering committed tasks on time.
Promote and maintain a safe working environment by:
Following general safety protocols and 5S workplace organization practices.
Leading or contributing to the creation of written risk assessments and COSHH documentation.
Identifying and mitigating potential hazards in own work and across the team.
Participate in and support team-based improvement and innovation initiatives.
Maintain and manage inventory for key New Product Development (NPD) projects.
Apply structured fault-finding and root cause analysis (RCA) methods to:
Troubleshoot testing equipment.
Isolate variables and resolve issues in prototype product testing.
Ensure high standards of test execution by:
Meeting all testing requirements and objectives.
Delivering accurate, high-quality test data and documentation.
Guiding or supporting the direction of experimental testing when needed.
Communicate clearly with stakeholders to enable informed, team-based decision-making.
Manage deadlines effectively, adjusting and communicating changes to plans as necessary.
Ensure proper care, maintenance, and security of sensitive prototype products and bespoke test equipment.
Qualifications
Educated to HNC or equivalent
Associate Engineer with extent amount of experience within an similar hands on role
Be a problems solver whilst taking a logical approach to fault finding and troubleshooting
Familiar with pressure systems and strong understanding of fundamental physics
A keen eye for detail and for following processes/procedures
Good numeracy skills
