Z. Hinchliffe & Sons Ltd., one of the UK's leading fine woollen yarn spinners, is seeking an experienced

Textile Mechanical Engineer

to support the relocation and maintenance of woollen textile machinery at our mill in Denby Dale, Huddersfield.

This hands-on role involves machine disassembly, transportation support, reassembly, and general mechanical upkeep. Ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background, especially in textile manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Disassemble and reassemble various woollen textile machines Relocate blending and carding machinery Load and unload machinery onto wagons Replace worn or damaged parts Carry out mechanical maintenance and inspections Work with a team to ensure safe and efficient machine relocation

Requirements

Essential:

Mechanical engineering experience Previous experience in textile manufacturing preferred Good literacy and numeracy skills Full UK driving licence Comfortable with manual labour and working outdoors when needed Ability to work standing for long periods and lift heavy items

Desirable:

Forklift truck licence Experience with blending and carding machines

Pay:

Starting at 15.00 per hour

Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 4:15pm Friday: 7:45am - 3:15pm

On-site role - own transport recommended (limited public transport access)
