Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover), Term Time Only (0.8527 FTE)



SFCA Support Staff pay spine points 9 - 11 (25,786 - 27,532 per annum, 21,987.72- 23,476.54 pro rata)



The College is looking to appoint a Textiles/Art Technician within the Art and Design Department to provide technical and administrative support. This includes maintaining and developing materials and resources, assisting with machinery and equipment setup, and assist with the effective operation of I.T resources. The post holder will support staff and students in the correct and safe use of technical equipment, particularly in Textiles and Fine Art, and play a key role in preparing for exhibitions, displays, and framing. Responsibilities also include carrying out duties as requested by the Head of Department, contributing to an effective portage facility, and undertaking general equipment maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation systems, including manuals, inventories, and records of issues and actions taken. They will assist with stock checks, ordering consumables, and ensuring that all health and safety documentation is up to date and visible. The role requires promoting a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety legislation, completing risk assessments where necessary, and ensuring recycling practices are followed. Training will be provided to act as the department's First Aider, and collaboration with the Network Manager will be essential to support IT operations in the department.
