The ideal person for this role will have a passion to see people develop skills and change their lives for the better. You will need strong people skills, and be able to show patience and understanding whilst maintaining good professional boundaries. You'll be part of a team, so good communication is key. You'll also need to be self-motivated and confident working independently. Having a flexible and adaptable attitude is crucial, because the needs of those we work with can change quickly. A good level of emotional resilience is definitely an asset, and a non-judgemental approach to mental health, recovery, and relapse.
In all of our roles, either an Enhanced or basic DBS check and two references will be required before you can start working for us. That's just part of making sure everyone stays safe.

The Cavern
The Cavern is a unique community coffee shop in the heart of Gloucester that exists to support people to become the best version of themselves. It provides a safe, welcoming environment where individuals from all walks of life can feel valued and supported. This includes those with complex needs, learning disabilities, or mental health challenges. As well as serving great coffee, The Cavern offers meaningful work experience and volunteering opportunities for vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals, building confidence, skill-building and a sense of purpose. It's also a social lifeline for many, open daily 10am - 10pm, and is committed to person-centred, trauma-informed care in every interaction.

The Cavern Supervisor (Bank)
Purpose of Role
To enable people to become the best version of themselves by leading shifts at The Cavern and creating a safe, welcoming environment for all. This role involves supervising volunteers, supporting customers, and handling daily tasks.
Main Activities/Tasks
To run the coffee shop when you are on shift including serving customers and maintaining the cleanliness of the environment
To develop and train our team of volunteers
To manage The Cavern environment, including dealing with any challenging behaviour
To role model and promote customer service to a high standard
To be able to lead volunteers and delegate relevant jobs
To encourage and enthuse the team in their work
To competently and confidently deal with customer complaints when necessary
To be able to adhere to cash handling procedures such as cashing up, putting money in the safe, problem solving on the till, and so on
To have a basic understanding of stock takes, booking in new stock, and our returns policy
To build positive relationships with those that attend The Cavern regularly
To attend training and regular professional development
To work with the Senior Leadership team
To work within the policies and procedures of Kingfisher Treasure Seekers
To promote Kingfisher Treasure Seekers and its work
Any other duties as required
