What you'll be responsible for:
To be responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate nursing care for patient's designated to their care.
To always work to the NMC/HCPC Code
To supervise non-registered staff as stipulated by the NMC/HCPC under the requirements of delegation
Provide an environment that enables compassionate, individualised, safe care to be delivered
Assess and plan patients care needs in an accurate and timely way, implement and evaluate the planned care using a holistic and evidence based approach
Identify any additional needs of the patient/carer and refer to appropriate member of the multi-agency/multi-professional team via the agreed pathways.
Make reasonable adjustments to maximise the patient's experience as need identified
Support and enable patients and carers to identify own health needs and strategies to improve and maintain wellbeing.
Accurately observe and record patient's clinical condition, and initiate appropriate action, in response to any change in condition.
Responsible for safe administration of drugs
Act as the patient's advocate at all times
To maintain safe clinical practice in diagnosis and treatment
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You'll have the following qualification/experience:
Qualifications:
Current NMC/HCPC Registration (Level 1 adult nurse) or evidence of qualification if newly qualified.
Degree in nursing studies or healthcare related subject (UK equivalent)
Mentorship certificate/ Practice Assessor training or demonstrable equivalent experience.
Experience:
Experience of working in an acute hospital or community healthcare setting.
Recent experience of working as a registered nurse or ODP.
Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information
Able to work without supervision
Competent in the use of IT - such as Microsoft Office
Evidence of CPD
Knowledge of national health and social care policy
Venepuncture and cannulation competency
