About the Project
The Dream, written and directed by Nnenna Samson Abosi, was first performed in 2020 as a radio play produced by SPID Theatre as part of their Estate Endz community theatre programme. The Dream was inspired by the Mangrove 9, lived experience of the Wind rush generation, Race Relations Acts and Black Power movement, highlighting Black British activism and community resilience. This stage adaptation will celebrate the Windrush generation, cultural pride, and anti-racist history through theatre and storytelling. This will also run alongside a curated exhibition for "Windrush day".
