Therapeutic Care Service Lead / Clinical or Counselling Psychologist who is HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with substantial experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic support structures in an inpatient mental health setting or a children\xe2\x80\x99s services context is required for a specialist organisation that provides therapeutic care, trauma-informed court assessments and organisational consultation.

SALARY: up to \xc2\xa360,000 per annum (equivalent to NHS Band 8b) + Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: South and South-East of England. There are services in Wiltshire, Hampshire and Berkshire. There will be travel expected as the service expands into new areas. Some remote work possible.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Therapeutic Care Service Lead / Clinical or Counselling Psychologist who is HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist with substantial experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic support structures in an inpatient mental health setting or a children\xe2\x80\x99s services context is required for a specialist organisation that provides therapeutic care, trauma-informed court assessments and organisational consultation.

As the Therapeutic Care Service Lead / Clinical or Counselling Psychologist you will be responsible for embedding Attachment and Trauma Informed Care (ATIC) approaches within the homes the organisation support and advancing business activities to increase the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s reach and support in line with their development goals.

Attachment and Trauma Informed Care (ATIC) is about using research and knowledge of how children form bonds to their caregivers and working to meet children \xe2\x80\x98where they are\xe2\x80\x99 to recover from adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) gently and safely.

Children and young people have often needed to develop a range of responses to survive and cope with adversity or trauma. Using a care model that knows about attachment and trauma, you will support staff to provide young people with a sense of safety and containment and opportunities to experience healthy, nurturing relationships. This allows self-esteem to build and supports them to heal from past experiences.

Due to increased demand for therapeutic care services, this is a new and highly specialist role for a clinician with strong leadership skills to provide professional leadership of the organisation\xe2\x80\x99s Therapeutic Care Service.

The purpose of the role as the Therapeutic Care Service Lead / Clinical or Counselling Psychologist is to champion, embed, develop, and diversify the Attachment and Trauma Informed Care (ATIC\xe2\x84\xa2) Model.

As the Therapeutic Care Service Lead / Clinical or Counselling Psychologist you will hold a partial caseload of consultation, organisational and systemic leadership, specialist assessment and formulation in complex residential care settings.

You will be crucial in expanding the service provision, identifying new business opportunities to increase the number of organisations the company help and support. This will involve engaging with key stakeholders and creating opportunities for customer engagement.

There is much scope for evolving and expanding the role within the team and the organisation are proud to have a dynamic and creative approach to implementing meaningful change within the services they support.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • HCPC registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
  • Essential: Substantial experience of delivering evidence based therapeutic support structures in inpatient mental health settings or a children\xe2\x80\x99s services context (i.e. residential services) \xe2\x80\x93 local authority, CAMHS, or services for looked after children
  • Essential: Substantial experience of providing systemic consultation and advice to organisations, social work staff and other professionals eg CAMHS or Local Authorities
  • Desirable: Experience in leading a psychological service and offering supervision and support to clinical psychologists in delivering Attachment and Trauma Informed Care
  • A blend of remote working and visits to services in the Hampshire and Berkshire area, with the need to work with your team to expand the service into new areas, so a willingness to travel as the need arises is important.
