We are seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Education Practitioner to join our team on a fixed-term basis, working 10 hours per week. This role involves delivering specialised educational and behavioural support to children with diverse needs, including those with autism and disabilities. The successful candidate will play a vital part in fostering positive development and ensuring personalised care within a supportive environment. Prior experience in applied behaviour analysis, working with children, and knowledge of special education are highly desirable. Responsibilities
Deliver tailored educational programmes designed to support children with autism and other disabilities
Implement behaviour management strategies based on applied behaviour analysis principles
Address anxieties related to learning and exams
Support executive functioning skills (ADHD)
Develop study skills in preparation for GCSE exams in Summer 2026.
Support children during therapy sessions, activities, and daily routines to promote engagement and learning
Monitor and record behavioural progress, maintaining detailed documentation for review
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, therapists, and families, to ensure consistent care
Create a safe, nurturing environment that encourages positive behaviour and development
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing assessment of individualised care plans
Skills
Experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special educational needs
Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis techniques and their practical application
Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities and ADHD in a compassionate manner
Strong understanding of medication administration procedures (if applicable)
Excellent patient care skills combined with organisational abilities
Effective communication skills to liaise with families, colleagues, and external professionals
Patience, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to supporting children's developmental needs
