About Murmuration

Murmuration is a not-for-profit social enterprise offering spaces of deep support and connection for parents of disabled and neurodivergent children (SEND parents). We run wellbeing courses that gently welcome the emotional experience of each participant. Our aim is for participants to come out of our courses with a deeper awareness of the emotional toll of ableism and other SEND parent challenges, greater skills in self compassion, and the support of an intimate community of fellow SEND parents. Our facilitation is rooted in justice, compassion and community co-creation.

We are currently looking for facilitators who can embody our facilitation style, especially our commitment to the radical act of welcoming all the complex, beautiful, contradictory parts of our participants and ourselves.

About the Role

Experience facilitating groups is essential to this role!

You'll co-facilitate 8-week courses for SEND parents, following an established structure and curriculum (including check-in, psychoeducation, journaling, sharing, somatic grounding and gratitude) whilst bringing your own grounded warmth and deep compassion. You'll be supported with training and reflection spaces.

What We're Looking For

You delight in diversity - of identity, experience, emotion, and neurotype - and can stretch into unfamiliar subcultures with curiosity and humility You have a flexible, non-rigid, neuro-affirming facilitation style You can be warm, informal, and real, and can share your own story and vulnerability without oversharing or getting overwhelmed You have a justice lens and can name systemic injustice without fuelling interpersonal blame You have a lived understanding of the practice of self-compassion You have the emotional literacy to hold space for internalised ableism, shame, and grief You're confident in guiding grounding practices eg. relaxation, breathwork, gentle movement and meditation

Essential Skills & Qualities

Deep listening and relational sensitivity Experience of facilitating groups (not necessarily SEND-related) Ability to articulate and explain how emotions work, drawing on psychoeducational research A trauma-informed lens Ability to stay steady in the face of emotional intensity Experience of reflective practice - you're willing to explore your own reactions and learn from challenges Commitment to social justice and liberation from ableism

Desirable (But Not Essential)

Experience and expertise in peer-led support, somatic practices, therapy and counselling, or community organising Lived experience as a parent of a disabled/neurodivergent child Comfortable with online facilitation and basic tech tools (eg. Zoom, shared docs etc.) A full driving licence and access to a car

What We Offer

Training in Murmuration's facilitation approach Ongoing supervision and co-reflection A caring team culture that honours your own access needs
