An exciting opportunity has arisen at University Hospital Southampton Trust to undertake a level 6 apprenticeship in Therapeutic Radiography. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team treating patients with cancer using radiation in an innovative and ever developing field of healthcare. Southampton's Radiotherapy department is newly equipped with state-of-the-art treatment Linacs with Surface-Guided technology fitted on all of these.
This exciting role provides candidates with the opportunity to earn whilst you learn, gets hand on clinical practice as well as theory-based learning through Sheffield Hallam University.
The apprenticeship runs over 3 years, based in University Hospital Southampton's Radiotherapy department, and comprises of:
On the job training based within our pioneering radiotherapy department
Off the job training - following an integrated timetable with Sheffield Hallam University. The University course commences in March 2024; attendance will be mostly through distance learning although you will be expected to attend a few days on site at the University.
Completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in Therapeutic Radiography, approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
The post is 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

As part of the multi-disciplinary team, the post holder will fulfil a key role in providing radiotherapy, care and support to individuals as specified in standard radiotherapy protocols.
To perform a range of radiotherapy duties and procedures, as detailed in the apprenticeship programme, under the supervision of a qualified therapy radiographer
