Therapeutic Specialist - Liver - South West & South Wales
Our client is a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and commercialises innovative medicines in areas of unmet medical need. They seek to improve the care of patients living with life-threatening diseases around the world including HIV/AIDS, liver diseases, cancer and inflammation, and serious respiratory and cardiovascular conditions.
An exciting, permanent opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Liver Team as a Therapeutic Specialist working within the Liver Franchise in the Midlands territory. In this role you will be responsible for leading across their Liver Portfolio, being responsible for a new launch in PBC, growing Hepatitis C and Hepatitis D.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • Achieving sales targets in assigned territory through account focus and prioritising activity on key targets
  • Utilizes a level of Liver product and therapeutic disease working knowledge to promote the appropriate use to healthcare professionals
  • Prepare business plan, assigns activity and communicate required actions to achieve goals
  • Prepares territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures to drive outcomes in business plan and is accountable jointly for spend
  • Work cooperatively with Medical Science Liaisons, Regional Market Access, Marketing, Outcomes and Support Services on various cross-functional projects
  • Build and extend business relationships with key customers or within accounts
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
  • A passion and the ambition for commercializing breakthrough medicine in specialty care a strong and competitive commercial mindset, robust scientific acumen, and a tactical approach
  • Adaptability to a changing environment, understanding new business challenges and how creative solutions can help overcome them
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and build working relationships internally and externally and be able to develop strong relationships with key opinion leaders
  • Proven experience in account planning and cross-functional account management
  • Previous hospital specialist sales experience, which is essential, with knowledge of Liver Disease Health Care Professionals an advantage
  • Typically, a degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent nursing background with relevant selling experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
  • ABPI Qualification, which is essential
  • Able to engage and manage multiple stakeholders to achieve the objective
  • Curious with learning agility
  • Operationally excellent
  • Organised with systematic approach to prioritisation
