Our team of specialist palliative care Therapists (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics and Complementary Therapy) provide holistic and expert support to patients with progressive and life-limiting illness and those close to them. This role will be important in the daily management of clinical and non-clinical activities within the inpatient, outpatient and community setting.

Responsibilities of a Therapy Assistant
To support the Therapies Team, (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Complimentary Therapy) in the daily management of clinical and non-clinical activities within the In-Patient Unit (IPU), Outpatients, and the Community
The post holder will assist the Therapists to maintain a high standard of patient care by undertaking delegated clinical programmes of management, administrative and equipment duties to support the functioning of the department.
To assist therapists with patients' treatment either jointly or to carry out treatment programmes following therapists' assessment, this may include community visits.
To maintain a clean and tidy environment within clinical and non-clinical areas
To help with the purchase, maintenance, and safe storage of equipment
Skills and experience required
Knowledge and experience of the delivery of health and or social care
Understands the role of Trinity's palliative care service and the wider work of the hospice
An understanding of the challenges of working with people with life-limiting illnesses and those important to them
Possession of the Care Certificate or be willing to undertake
Undertakes a range of routine work procedures within the IPU, outpatient and community setting and able to be flexible to carry out new procedures following appropriate training.
Excellent communication skills and confidence to communicate with patients, families and professionals from all backgrounds
