Job Description

At St Chris, we understand that childhood and adolescence are critical times for emotional growth and mental wellbeing. This role supports students in both primary and secondary as they navigate the complex landscape of identity, relationships, and academic pressures. The therapist creates a safe and confidential space for students to process their emotions and develop coping strategies, thereby reducing barriers to learning and promoting holistic development.

Fees are dependent on skills, knowledge and experience of the individual. Please disclose your hourly rate.

Flexible to meet the needs of our students and the School. Term time only, part time Contract for Services

Key accountabilities and responsibilities of the role:


Targeted Therapeutic Support



Deliver 1:1 therapy sessions that address anxiety, low mood, trauma, self-harm, and identity concerns Facilitate small group interventions focused on resilience, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and peer dynamics Apply neurodiversity-affirming methods, adapting support for students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning differences Use evidence-based approaches (e.g., CBT, integrative models, creative therapy) tailored to adolescent development

Assessment & Planning



Conduct initial consultations and contribute to multi-agency reviews Design personalised therapy plans aligned to EHCPs, pastoral goals

Collaboration & Advocacy



Liaise with Inclusion Strategy Lead, SENDCo, School Nurse and Wellbeing Lead Contribute to safeguarding, Early Help assessments, and restorative support pathways where appropriate Offer trauma-informed consultation for staff around relational discipline and emotional wellbeing

Monitoring & Evaluation



Keep clear, confidential records of progress and engagement
