About Us



Onyx Therapy Ltd. is a neuroaffirming Occupational Therapy and Speech & Language Therapy service specialising in supporting autistic and neurodivergent children, young people, and families. We take a strengths-based, relational, and compassionate approach to therapy that focuses on collaboration and wellbeing.

We are seeking a warm, proactive, and motivated Therapy Assistant to join our team, working directly with a family based in Leeds.

The Role



As a Therapy Assistant, you will be implementing Occupational Therapy and Speech & Language Therapy programmes designed by our clinical team, under their supervision and guidance.

Your key responsibilities will include:



Supporting the child to engage in functional, social, and self-regulation activities. Delivering OT- and SaLT-informed interventions such as sensory regulation, communication support, and executive-functioning tasks. Promoting confidence, self-awareness, and participation in meaningful daily routines. Encouraging physical activity and wellbeing -- experience or interest in movement, sport, or fitness is desirable. Liaising regularly with the family, therapists, and education providers to ensure consistent support. Keeping detailed session notes and daily logs, recording progress, engagement, and any observations relevant to therapy goals. Sharing written feedback with the supervising clinicians to inform ongoing therapy planning. Travelling to different locations when required for sessions, meetings, or supervision (mileage reimbursed). Representing Onyx Therapy in a professional and positive way at all times, upholding our neuroaffirming values and commitment to inclusive, compassionate practice.

About You



We'd love to hear from you if you are:

Empathetic, calm, and adaptable -- with a genuine passion for neurodiversity-affirming practice. Experienced working with autistic children or young people (school, community, care, or therapy setting). Able to follow therapy plans and communicate clearly with both professionals and families. Organised and confident in writing brief daily notes and maintaining accurate records. Confident promoting physical activity, sensory regulation, and emotional wellbeing. Willing to engage in regular supervision and ongoing learning. Professional, reliable, and committed to promoting Onyx Therapy's reputation for high-quality, person-centred support. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle at all times to fulfil role duties

Desirable (but not essential):



A qualification or background in Personal Training, Sports Coaching, or Physical Education. Experience with PDA profiles or anxiety-based school avoidance. Knowledge of EOTAS provision or 1:1 community-based education/therapy.
