We have an exciting and unique opportunity to join our MSK and Pelvic Health leadership team, working alongside Therapy Service Managers and the Deputy Chief AHP/Head of Therapy Services. Our supportive and friendly therapy management structure includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapists & Practitioner Psychologists.



We are looking for a physiotherapist who is either an experienced leader, or looking to further develop skills in a leadership role. This role provides opportunities to work as physiotherapy professional lead for the organisation, alongside the day to operational planning and delivery of MSK and Pelvic Health Services.

This post is responsible for the leadership, development and operational management of of MSK and Pelvic Health Services, working alongside another Therapy Manager and Physiotherapy Professional Lead.



MSK services provide outpatient physiotherapy for musculoskeletal presentations across 6 main sites. The service includes specialist hand therapy and rheumatology services, FCP and advanced practice roles. The pelvic health service offers outpatient physiotherapy to men and women presenting with pelvic floor dysfunction.



The role includes monitoring and delivering contracted activity, managing budgets and ensuring quality standards are maintained. Managing people and workforce development and redesign are also key aspects to this post. This will require close working and communication with the other Therapy Mangers and AHP Professional Leads.



Leadership and communication is expected at many different levels, including within therapy services, the Trust, and with partner organisations. The post holder will be responsible for working with referrers, other providers and service users to implement plans to ensure services meet the needs of the patients and contribute to national and local health strategies.

Job Summary



Develop professional networks locally, regionally and nationally



Represent the profession at an organisational level



Support the operational manager with the development and implementation of MSK/PH service strategies



Promote and support quality improvement initiatives and change



Support the team leaders with their delegated clinical and professional responsibilities



Contribute to monthly therapy services quality and safety meetings to represent the MSK/PH/Physiotherapy service on activities such as NICE guidance, risk assessments audits and research.



Ensure MSK/PH/Physiotherapy staff are involved in audit and research relevant to clinical practice



Support the development of the MSK/PH/Physiotherapy Service workforce eg Identifying emerging roles and succession planning



Ensure professional supervision is embedded in the service



Support the operational management of the MSK/PH Service .



Ensure the service is involved in clinical governance activities.



Provide a key role in partnership working with statutory, private and voluntary sector



Support the organisation with the development and implementation of Physiotherapy Strategies



Support operational managers to deal with professional issues and monitoring professional standards



Develop and maintain links with higher education institutions



Participate in the senior manager's tactical on call rota for the organisation



In pursuing these duties the post holder will ensure compliance with the NHS Constitution and be familiar with the NHS England Guidance 'Understanding the new NHS'
