About the Role

We are looking for an experienced

Thermal Survey Technician

to join our team on a zero-hour contract / freelance basis.

The role involves conducting

on-site thermal surveys

, operating thermal imaging equipment, and capturing precise photographic and thermographic records. You will be responsible for supporting clients on-site, identifying opportunities for additional services, and producing detailed

post-survey reports

. A strong emphasis will be placed on

heat loss detection, insulation performance, and building envelope assessments

.

Duties

Conduct

on-site thermal surveys

in line with ISO 9712 Level 2 standards. Operate and maintain

thermal cameras and inspection equipment

. Capture and record

thermal images and photographs

for analysis. Apply

IRT Level 2 knowledge

to assess

heat loss, insulation defects, and thermal bridging

. Liaise with clients on-site, explaining processes and findings. Identify opportunities to

promote additional services

and generate leads. Prepare accurate and validate

inspection reports

with findings and recommendations. Comply with all relevant

health & safety regulations

and inspection codes.

Requirements

PCN Level 2 (ISO 9712)

qualification. Relevant certifications or qualifications in building inspection or a related field would be advantageous.

Proven experience

in

infrared thermography & heat loss surveys

. Ability to work independently on a

zero-hour contract basis / freelance

. Proven experience as a

Thermal Imaging Surveyor / Building Inspector

or in a similar role within the construction industry is preferred.

Strong analytical skills

with the ability to assess complex information quickly and accurately. In-depth knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction practices.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-professionals.

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

to manage multiple inspections efficiently.

Full UK driving licence

Right to work in the UK

Job Types: Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: 28.00-35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 per week
