We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as the Third in Charge. This leadership role involves supporting the management team in overseeing daily operations within a childcare or nursery setting. Responsibilities

Assist the management team in supervising staff and ensuring smooth daily operations Support the delivery of high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations Lead by example in providing a caring, nurturing environment for children Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and children to foster positive relationships Support planning and organisation of activities that promote children's development Step in as acting manager when required, making decisions to resolve issues promptly Maintain accurate records related to children's progress, attendance, and incidents Assist with staff training, development, and performance evaluations Drive company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices Experience working with children, ideally within nursery or preschool environments Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are desirable Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting children or supplies when necessary Ability to organise tasks efficiently and work well under pressure Passionate about child development and committed to providing a safe, supportive environment for children
