Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Third in Charge. This role is pivotal in supporting the management of our childcare facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for early childhood education.

Responsibilities

Assist in the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and best practices. Support the Lead and Deputy Managers in planning and implementing engaging educational programmes tailored to children's needs. Supervise and mentor staff members, promoting a positive team environment and encouraging professional development. Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and staff through effective communication and collaboration. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care, adhering to health and safety policies at all times. Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development, providing feedback to parents as necessary. Assist with administrative tasks as required, including staff scheduling and resource management.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a childcare setting, preferably with nursery experience or early childhood education qualifications. Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Experience working with children is essential; knowledge of child development principles is highly desirable. A valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation purposes related to nursery activities. A commitment to ongoing professional development within the field of childcare.
