Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Third in Charge. This role is pivotal in supporting the management of our childcare facility, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for early childhood education.

Responsibilities

Assist in the daily management of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Support the Lead and Deputy Managers in planning and implementing educational programmes that promote children's development. Supervise and mentor staff members, fostering a collaborative team environment. Engage with children to create a stimulating and supportive atmosphere for learning and play. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and wellbeing. Maintain accurate records of children's activities, attendance, and developmental milestones. Ensure the nursery is kept clean, safe, and organised at all times.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a childcare setting, ideally with nursery experience or early childhood education qualifications. Strong management and leadership skills to guide staff effectively. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Experience working with children, demonstrating a genuine interest in their development and care. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation if required. Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of taking initiative when necessary.
